FAQs
Most Frequently Asked
How do you find land to lease?
Many of our clients have found land to lease for their tiny houses, even in Auckland! Below are our top recommendations for finding land to lease: • Friends & Family: Reach out to friends and family — you never know who might be interested in leasing space on their property. • Landshare: A free website connecting landowners and tiny house owners. • Facebook: Join local community groups to advertise that you’re looking for land to lease. Be sure to include detailed information to help landowners understand what you're looking for.
The location I want to put my tiny house has limited/difficult access. What options do I have?
It’s best to discuss access with us or a towing company. Steep hills, sharp corners, narrow access, low power lines, trees, etc. can all cause problems getting your house into position. In some cases, it’s possible to crane your house into place if access is limited.
Is building consent required?
Building a tiny home does not require building consent, although resource consent may be necessary depending on the location. Don’t worry — our experienced team is here to guide you through the council processes, answer your questions, and support you every step of the way, no matter where you are in New Zealand.
Is transport an additional cost?
Yes, transport is not included in the price of the home. We work with a variety of moving companies and will be happy to provide a quote for transport.
Do you have a showhome we can view?
Yes, we do. We have a dedicated show home on-site in the Tasman region where you can come check it out. Not in the area? No worries - we offer a travel-rebate subsidy should you become a customer. Alternatively, our clients often love to show their tiny homes off - let us know and we can find a local home for you to view.
